Questions
What does Triple C play?
New Canadian music comes first, alongside the best new music from everywhere else. Every genre: indie, hip-hop, electronic, punk, folk, R&B, country, metal, music in French and more. It's all music, with no talk shows or comedy. Most of it is new and emerging artists, mixed with music you already know.
Do you play Indigenous artists?
Yes. Championing First Nations, Inuit and Métis artists is part of what Triple C is for. We're building that work with Indigenous artists and communities, and we'll share more as it takes shape.
Do you play music in French?
Oui. We play francophone artists from Quebec, Acadia and across the country, right alongside music in English.
Why the name Triple C?
It's a nod to triple j, the Australian station that has championed new music for decades and inspired us to start this one. We hope they don't mind. Triple C is independent and isn't affiliated with triple j or the ABC. Read our story.
Does it cost anything to submit?
No. There are no submission fees and no paid placements, and there never will be.
Will you pay me if you play my song?
We don't pay artists directly for airplay. We're a not-for-profit, and the licence is royalty-free from us to you. Money owed through collective societies like SOCAN or Re:Sound for broadcasts is separate and isn't affected. If you're a member, make sure your songs are registered with them. Why we don't pay for airplay yet.
Who can submit?
Canadian artists come first, wherever they live, along with artists living in Canada. We also listen to music from anywhere else. You need to own the recording and the song, or have permission from everyone who does: bandmates, co-writers and your label.
Can I take my song off the station later?
Yes. Send us a message and we'll stop scheduling it. Shows we've already recorded may stay in our archive.
How do I list a show in the gig guide?
Anyone can suggest one, whether you're in the band, run the venue or just want to go. Add a show and we'll check it before it goes on the map.
